sunday on the front stoop, democracy?

jeff, dennis and susan are talking and hope you will join in.  we start with whatever we are finding interesting and go from there...  is there a modern democracy?  do we need organized government?  are ism's obsolete?  are we, as indviduals, ready to be empowered and participate directly through our communication technology, in the development of our future socio/economic systems?   if that's not enough... we will think of something...  with your help, we hope.
