King Saul quits the sneaky approach and openly orders David to be assassinated. God saves David through first the king;s son and then the king's daughter. And then soldiers who are in pursuit of David become filled with the Spirit of God and begin prophesying. Even Saul himself has that experience. What a dramatic series of rescues God provided for David, and that wasn't the last of the miraculous deliverances that God arranges for David. This is a wonderful example of how we are protected from harm. In reading the Bible through and listening to several great preachers, I've come to believe and understand that if anything touches our lives, it's because God allowed if -- even if an injury, illness, or great loss. We can be sure that God will use what comes against us for our good. And He will protect us, just as He protected David.
