At the heart of the discussion we look at the psychological worldview that states things we don't know, trust, or like need to be dealt with swiftly and violently, and how this view molds the conservative obsession with guns, as something far more than a tool for self-defense. We also examine why it is that any and all attempts to make gun manufacturing, sales, and ownership safer and more responsible are viewed as the first step to a hostile government takeover, and how this delusional, paranoia leads to an insurmountable impass for progress. Finally, we'll look at just how exactly "the Second Ammendment" has been turned into a wedge "issue" and a tool of demogagory, as though there's a political wing that wants to get rid of it or take your guns.
