Making a Living Doing What You Love - Sep 07,2013

My goal is to make a living doing what I love. Sadly, I cant tell you that if you do what you love, the money will follow. I wish that were always true. To be frank, doing what you love doesnt always lead to great riches Coming at life from such an "idealistic" point of view immediately triggers the "realistic" reflex. Thats the device weve all been trained to use to reinforce our story about what is and what is not possible. It keeps us in line. It keeps us under control. "I cant just go doing what I love..." we say. "I have a family to support..." "I have obligations..." "I cant just do that..." These are all valid and quite rational responses to the idea of making a living doing what you love. And its your choice whether or not you want to allow your life to be governed by these creations. As evolved as we think we are as humans, history has shown were not too many steps removed from the animal kingdom. Once the luxuries of modern life are stripped away, our similarity to animals becomes very clear, very quickly. But theres one trait animals dont display that we "evolved" humans do. I cant think of any animal that would willingly pursue an activity it didnt feel was in its own best interest. It certainly wouldnt do it 8 hours a day... for years and years. But we humans do this all the time. We do it for many reasons. We do it because were told to do it. We do it because were worried about what others might think of us if we didnt. We do it because we dont know any better. We do it because we dont believe in ourselves. We do it because were scared of the alternatives People who should listen to this show are entrepreneurs
