Epistles of St. Paul to Timothy 'son in the faith' Pt1 | www.warn-usa.com | WIBR/WARN
In these epistles we find a direct letter, or epistle to a young minister named Timothy who was Paul's 'son in the faith'. Paul set up Timothy to oversee the church at Ephesus. It is here that Paul gives advice and instructions regarding the establishment of Bishops, instructions for the believers gathering there, and is a true Pastoral epistle that is taught which many ministers today have read.
Paul was Timothy's father in the faith and the one who taught this young man to endure hardness, be a good soldier of the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ. Furthermore Timothy was converted during Pauls first visit to Antioch, Iconiumm, and Lystra where persecution followed the Apostle. Timothy was from either Lystra or Derbe according to ISBE.
