Our beautiful guest with his soaring skills was born in the Jamaica/Queens neighborhood of New York City.  On violin at eight, he was playing Mozart the next year.  At ten, he became the youngest student to be accepted into Julliard!  He graduated when he was 13 :) Damien and his brother worked as street musicians at Grand Central Station and at subway stops.  In 2003, they had the opportunity to become "legit" - and called themselves Nuttin' But Strings.  They grew to be a VERY hot commodity, winning at the Apollo and taking third place on "America's Got Talent."  During these years, Damien also had the good fortune of being in he film, "Step Up."   After several years of success, the brothers realized that creative differences were pulling them apart - so they disbanded the unit.  Damien immersed himself in real estate - but that siren call of music was too strong.  Two years ago, he made his solo debut with "Sensual Melodies."  That took off better than he anticipated and only whetted his appetite for further exploring multiple genres.   What's so extra wonderful about this young man is his intent to give back.  Damien is involved in a myriad of charitable work, including UNICEF and his childhood YMCA.  He is also the founder of Violins Against Violence - and has focused on children by authoring a book called "The Sound of Strings."   This Emmy Award-winning musical messenger has a new album on the way - called "Boundless."  And a tour is set in conjuntion with the new work.  You mention the name Damien Escobar to MANY - and there's a sharp intake of breath.  His talent is like THAT.  It's as though the planets aligned when he was born in 1988.  His fans will tell you that! Our show starts at ONE p.m. Eastern.  Damien at TWO :)
