We should just make him a regular, shouldnt we? LOL! EC3 has been on "Hybrid Jazz" a few times - and it seems as though he always has GREAT news when he visits. This time is no exception. Now - background on Ernest Coleman - son of Ernest Jr., also a noted musician - a tenor saxophonist and arranger/composer. Such was the example set by Dad that EC3 found himself at the Naval Conservatory of Music in Norfolk - and graduated as the youngest student that school ever had. You KNOW that he was eager! And this required a move from his birthplace: Naples, Italy. So our guests ambition was set in stone early :) A move to Los Angeles after school ended and EC was in the midst of drumming for beloved musicals. His style attracted the revered songstress, Loretta Holloway, and these two talented artists partnered for 12 years! EC became Lorettas musical director and conducted behind the drums - even orchestras! As they made their way around the world, touring and opening for household names, EC knew that he was fortunate to have found his niche. But there was more coming - work with the legendary Al McKibbon for three years, playing with Kevin Toney and Brad Bobo, John Clayton and Harrahs in both Tahoe and Reno - it was dizzying - and with Las Vegas now his homebase - he found himself never BEING home! Guess thats the way it will be for a while as EC3 gains more acclaim with his new "Its All About the Rhythm" CD. Critics are calling it a revelation and you will do - especially if you hear EC in concert this Sunday in Baltimore! Hell make his first professional stage show at Germanos Trattoria in Little Italy - one of the cooler rooms in town. Join us for more details on Tuesday, June 18th. Two p.m. Eastern USA time. Hopefully, family in Italy will be listening, too ;)
