SHOW DESCRIPTION On this edition of, "Creating Life's New Normal," I have the fortunate opportunity to chat with former Denver Bronco Running back Reggie Rivers. Mr. Rivers shares his life's lessons from the grid iron and how he has used this platform to propel him into running a successful speaking business, auctioneer, and author. HISTORY  Mr. Rivers signed with the Denver Broncos in 1991 as an undrafted free agent running back out of Southwest Texas State University (now renamed Texas State University). He played 6 seasons with the Broncos.  In 1991, he was named to Pro Football Weekly’s All-Rookie Team as a special teams player and in 1992, he won the Broncos Community Action Player Award in recognition of his volunteer service throughout Colorado. Here are just a few of Mr. Rivers accomplishments. In 1992, he won the Bob Martin Award, given annually to the Broncos player who is most cooperative with the media. In 1993, his teammates selected him as Special Teams Player of the Year. In 1993, he was named the Broncos NFL Man of the Year for superior athletic and civic performance. In 1995, he won the NFL Unsung Hero Award in recognition of volunteer efforts. In 1996, he was named the Broncos NFL Man of the Year for the second time. Reggie attended Texas State University on a full athletic scholarship. During his collegiate career, he amassed 2,500 career yards and was named to four All-American teams. He was a Southland Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year, and he has been inducted into the Texas State University Hall of Honor and the Southland Conference Hall of Honor.
