Happy New Day!!! May you make the year a 'Sweet Sixteen' and survive the drops, slips, confusions, frustrations, and well, a typical TBI Life. I grabbed my toolbox, and tonight let's go "Under the Hood" and talk about saying the right thing. Puttng both your guard and 'talking from within' on a balencing wire, being kind, being nice, saying your thoughts in a nutshell. Or, 1less than 3-minutes. That's a long time to listen to someone, especially with a brain injury who, uh, shuffles the cards often. Just DEAL for crying out loud! Patience is a strong suit with TBI's, but focus is not. Say IT!
Except me. I do this for hours and hours, each week so I have to talk. If you call in, call me, call all of us, I don't have to talk so much. And get to hear, listen and understand (try) your issues. If its about Brain Injury, probably I can identify. Or one of our listeners will, and they will call us. EVERYONE call us who wish to share, learn, question or understand brain injury. I/we can help. Not hurt, that's for certain. I take Survivors calls, sure. I take Caregivers, most certainly. I will TAKE CALLERS FROM FAMILIES of Survivors, one of these Certificates say I should talk with you. In Rehab Centers and Trauma Units, I do often.
(424) 243-9540 is our U.S. toll free number. We have others for around the w orld, just send me a message and ask on Facebook. Home of 'Matt Duffin (Hard Headed)' Brain Injury Support Group. We meet all the time btw, and I always am dressed. But, like the radio show that joins the gang, ya gotta open your mouth. OK, move your fingers...
