Father's Day is this Sunday, June 21st. And She Struts Radio recognize, honor, celebrate fathers EVERYWHERE! Thank you for being the men your children NEED you to be...for THEM to be the PEOPLE they CAN be!
But how do men men, black men, walk and stand in their greatness, so they are able to be loving, present, nurturing fathers to their children? Rev. Gilliam wants black men to wake up to their divinity. He says there are "endless opportunities for 'regular' guys to be reminded of their divinity which would in turn stop them from 'self-destructive' behaviors.'"
Rev. Jermel A. Gilliam is the Associate Minister at the Spiritual Empowerment Center, a native of Baltimore, a beloved father, husband, and son. Jermel has served as a Human Services professional for over 17 years, he is founder of the Wisdom Chapter of the Gentlemen of Quality, a licensed social worker, and graduate of the One Spirit Interfaith Seminary.
