I was born January 27, 1981. By the time I was 5 years old my parents had divorced. My mother needed to make a decision for what was best for the family and my father was struggling with anger issues that led into verbal and physical abuse. My mom decided it was better to be alone than to expose both of us to that situation. She requested that my dad leave and he did.
My mom was a hobby musician, playing the piano and singing frequently. She had attempted to pursue music professionally but several factors prevented that from happening. She is a lover of music and I was raised around all genres of music, taught music history and never was censored from any types of music no matter how young I was. My mom has a beautiful voice and my earliest memories of music almost always involve watching and listening to her sing and play the keys.
Raised by single mom, I was given a tremendous amount of freedom to express myself. I was encouraged to vocalize my thoughts and beliefs and it shaped the person I am today, no question...
