Stan Johnson was bought up in a Christian home, along with two brothers and two sisters.His father was physics professor at the University of North Carolina.
Stan Received Jesus Christ as his Savior at the early age of thirteen. After high school he attended Wake Forest University in North Carolina on a baseball scholarship. He later signed out of Wake Forest with the New York Yankee's organization. He pitched in the professional leagues for ten years. Stan was born with one leg shorter than the other. This required him to wear a one inch lift in his shoe when he played baseball. In 1970 his brother, Owen who is also a minister, prayed for Stan's leg to be healed. That day God lengthened his leg and healed his back. That day this experience completely changed Stan and he then gave God complete control of his life.
