The manifestation of God's given vision came to pass in the form of a ministry called the Ark Christian Worship Center.   After serving as a deacon at Bethel Deliverance International Church and now serving on the Board of Pastors at the Deliverance Evangelistic Church, Rev. Charles M. Jones accepted the call on his life and was ordained a pastor and ventured out to begin the church affectionately known as “The Ark.”   The heartbeat of “The Ark” lied within the passion of seeing souls saved and building real relationship in Christ within the community in which it resides. Often using the words family and community interchangeably, Pastor Jones believes that through the Word of God, the family and the community can be saved. Starting with his own blended family, his beautiful wife Laural, their 8 children and three grandchildren he has made this commitment as an example first for many to follow. Currently he is the appointed Pastor of New Umbria Baptist Church in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia. He is a 2014 recipient of the Lucien E. Blackwell Guiding Lights in the Community Award as well as a Board member of the Blue Bell Hill Civic Association for Wissahickon, Germantown/ W. Mt Airy.   Pastor Jones is experienced in preaching and teaching the Word of God, ministry leadership, care program for congregation and community. Enjoy developing and implementing strategies for discipleship training within the Church and outreach/ evangelism in the community. He holds a record of success in cultivating spiritual growth and unity among the congregation through preaching and teaching the Word of God in teaching Sunday school, small groups, Evangelism and Discipleship.
