We have a special in depth show this week where we take a close look at the role of seizure alert service dogs. Magnolia Paws for Compassion highlights the remarkable impact service dogs can have on people living with a variety of medical conditions, but most specifically, those who suffer from epilepsy. To raise awareness of the widespread benefits of animal assistance, Magnolia Paws for Compassion has enlisted the help of Brandon McMillan, celebrity animal behaviorist and host of the Emmy-nominated television series Lucky Dog. Brandon has teamed up with Eisai, the Epilepsy Foundation and 4 Paws for Ability, a non-profit organization focused on the training and placement of service dogs for children. Next we will speak with Karen Shirk, 4 Paws for Ability CEO, who trains and places seizure alert service dogs, and then Tom Penders, father of Becky, whoes family received a seizure assistance dog through Magnolia Paws for Compassion. It is a fascinating and heart warming story to learn how these dogs are helping children and their families better cope and save lives.  You will hear first hand accounts of how these dogs are trained and the everlasting bond they have with their new family. We are starting the Show with Julie Hall Karlock, the administrator for the Facebook group, Dog Euphoria and the winner of the Dog Euphoria Fashion Week contest, Trish Aleve.
