John Parks grew up in Rapid City, in the Black Hills of South Dakota. After graduating from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD in 1997, John worked in advertising sales at a group of radio stations called Results Radio for about 10 years. In that time, John appreciated the amazing sales training provided by his management team. He also grew to love calling on business owners as each day presented new opportunities for learning about the complexities of different industries. From there, John transitioned into the insurance realm in 2006 by opening his own agency within Farmers Insurance. While there he focused primarily on personal insurance solutions.
With a desire to return to working with business owners, John accepted the opportunity to work with Fischer Rounds and Associates as they opened their 5th location in SD in Sioux Falls in September of 2009. There, as a commercial lines producer and shareholder, John has advised a variety of businesses, including those in the food service, retail, construction, transportation and distribution/wholesaling industries.
John has been married to his wife, Susie, since 2003 and they have two young daughters… Ella and Sylvia. As his daughters frequently point out, John is girl-trapped. John ran track and cross-country collegiately and still enjoys running, and has competed in one marathon… so far. John also enjoys golfing and is busy enjoying his daughters’ activities. John is also partner in a web-based networking business called Switchyard Leads Network or switchyard.net.
