Many times we, in our sinful nature, are quick to judge others. I notice one way that we are quick to jump to assumptions or judgement is when we observe someone who is continuing to perfrom the same destructive actions over and over again. It is so easy to say, "Why does he/she not get it together?" Who would do that or who would continue to make the same foolish act over and over again? The Bible says in James 3:8 (I advice you to read the whole chapter 3), "But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison." We have to be so careful of what we say and that is one of the areas that we must work on daily.
Neverthless, we do not know the reasons why individuals are performing those actions in the first place. First, we all have a sinful nature that we cannot do anything about without God. Second, we all struggle in different areas for different reasons and the devil knows this. Three, there are spiritual forces that can keep us bound in sin when we open doors that only God can deliever us out of.
The Bible says in Romans 8:7, "Because the carnal mind is emnity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
Basically, there is so much more to the idea that people should learn from their mistakes. If that were the case, many of us would not continue to do things we don't want to do and not do that we should. There are so many underlying things that need to be addressed first and we need to pray for people and be there for them as the spirit leads when they are not able to change their ways. The Bible says in Galatians 6:1, "Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness; considering yourself, lest you also be tempted."
